16 Weeks

Today I am 16 weeks pregnant - 4 months...crazy! We had our 16-week appointment on Monday and everything looked great! We got to hear the heartbeat (like every appointment) which I love! The nurse told us the baby's heart rate was a strong 140. Nate came with me this time b/c we were meeting with a doctor that I've heard great things about - he is a favorite of two of my girlfriends. Also, being an appointment away from a sonogram, he came just in case we might get a sneak peak. No luck on the sonogram but he did hear the heartbeat for the first time. We were told that if we wanted to know the gender early, we could get a gender sonogram for the bargain price of $50...very tempting. However, since we plan on sharing that exciting news with our families when we are all together for Graham's birthday, we decided to wait until our 20-week appointment which will happen right before his party. I am feeling awesome in my 16th week of pregnancy. I looked back at symptoms that I was experiencing Graham - I had lower back/abdomen aching and heart burn...thankfully, I haven't really noticed those things yet! I hope that continues b/c my #1 worst pregnancy symptom last time was heart burn. If I could go through this pregnancy without that, it would be amazing! Here is my 16-week bump pic:
