Nate's Surprise Party

Nate celebrated a big birthday this year - on September 19, he turned 30! I love birthdays and since this was a big one, I really wanted to make it special! What better way then to get all of his buddies together and surprise him. :)

After a few weeks of secret phone conversations with his family/friends, all of the details were ironed out and the plan was set. We "decided" to go to Gallatin the weekend before his birthday because we hadn't been there for awhile. Friday night we got to town and went to watch Emma perform for her cheer clinic during halftime of the football game.
Miss Emma is such a little performer!

Saturday morning Graham and I did the Chautauqua 5k walk with my sister-in-law, Andrea - so fun to have a little girl time! Nate spent his morning shooting his bow with his brother Jeremy, one of the many co-conspirators. After having lunch with the fam, I told Nate that Andrea and I were planning to shop around at Chautauqua that afternoon, so he and Jeremy could just meet us up there later to watch a band. Little did he know that they'd be making a detour to Jeremy's farm before. When they pulled up to the farm Nate saw the people but couldn't tell who they were...he thought they were trespassers having a party. As they got closer and he saw not only his buddies from Gallatin, but also from Des Moines and KC...he figured it - SURPRISE! I honestly thought he knew but he didn't see it coming...aww, sweet success! :)

Thank you to everyone who helped with and came to the party - it was a great time! And, most importantly, Nate had a blast!
