Hello Mexico

Nate and I booked a spontaneous vacay to Mexico a few weeks ago with Jon and Cristin, making this our third trip together (with many more in our future)! We had been talking about taking another trip together so we checked dates/rates and ended up going down five weeks after booking. Thankfully everything just fell into place.

We had an amazing time! We went to El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya - the same place Nate and I honeymooned (almost five years ago - crazy) and where we own a vacation membership. We hadn't been back since we got married and it was just as great as I remember...no regrets on that membership purchase. Nate and I try to get away periodically to relax, unplug as much as possible (except for the calls to our baby) and just spend some quality time together. It has become something that is important to us and we hope we're able to continue traveling in the future...and, to start sharing these experiences with our kiddo(s) one day.

While in Mexico, we spent most of our time at the beach and pool...and not missing the freezing cold back at home. We decided to venture off the resort one day and took a cab down to Playa del Carmen. We explored the town and then took the ferry over to Cozumel. Once we got to the island, we walked around a bit and then rented a jeep to drive around. We didn't anticipate rain when we picked a vehicle without a roof/windows but it made the trip a little more exciting...and thankfully the rain didn't last long. During our excursion, Nate was "mistaken" for several different celebrities/people by the locals - 1) Zach Galifianakis (twice), 2) Mick Jagger, 3) Chuck Norris, Texas Ranger, 4) Leonidas, from the movie 300 and 5) Mr. Whiskers (twice). Hilarious!!

Alert - lots of pics...
Who cares if we're at the very back of the plane...we're going to MEXICO!
We have arrived
Cheers to vacation...
...and to some of our favorite people!

Last night
Another beautiful night with a huge moon...and you can see a cruise ship on the water.
While we were away, Graham spent some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Henderson in Gallatin...and his great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He has been talking about Cole, Emma and Patches (Grandma's kitty) so I know he had a blast! Thank you for keeping Graham!! Even though it is tough to leave him, we know it is just as important for him to have special time with the family as it is for Nate and I to have time for each other. However, this will be the last time we leave him for awhile...he grows and changes way to much when we're gone. ;)

Here is a picture of Graham playing with Emma last week.
Cuties!
