7 Months

Graham is officially 7 months old! He is such a sweet, happy little babe. I know mothers always see their babies as perfect but...I really think Graham is the perfect baby. I've said several times that I'm scared for all future children b/c of how good he is. Or, maybe I should be worried for his toddler or teenage years?! Here are few things about our 7-month old:

  1. Graham is quite the sleeper - he prefers to go to sleep on his own, goes to bed around 8:30pm and usually sleeps until between 7 and 7:30am. I hope this continues b/c Mama and Dada like sleep too!
  2. Graham is a the little jabber box. He squeals when excited and blabbers "haaaaaaaa," "ma ma ma," "ba ba ba" and "da da da." We realize he doesn't know what he's saying but he tends to say "haaaa" after we say "hi" to him...cute. And, what parent wouldn't want to hear mama or dada?!
  3. He still only has two teeth but has been drooling more lately so I'm wondering if there might be more on the horizon.
  4. Graham loves to sit on the floor and play with a bucket of toys. This sure helps when I'm trying to get dinner ready. :)
  5. He's a people watcher...actually, he just flat out stares at anyone and everyone. And lately, with his mouth wide open. It's pretty hilarious!
  6. Graham still loves his food and is eating two solid meals a day, along with his bottles. He has cereal and fruit in the morning and cereal and either a veggie or a meat in the evening. There really isn't anything that he doesn't like except avocados which I may try again to see if that has changed.
  7. Graham is rolling all over the place now...it's not unusual for Nate or I to go get him out of bed in the morning and he's facing the opposite direction, on his belly (we put him to bed on his back).
  8. We're working on crawling (part of his PT) but aren't quite there yet. We can get G to hold himself up a little bit but keeping the legs bent under him is a different story.
  9. Physical therapy is still going well. We're working on supporting weight with his left arm and trying to make sure that both arms are used equally. Since it seems like Graham will have most of his movement on the left side, his PT wants to make sure the left and right sides (primarily the shoulder blades right now) are positioned the same so Graham doesn't have pain later in life. We also have our second opinion at Children's Mercy in KC on Thursday, November 8th, and are very interested in what they have to say. And, great new on the insurance front - after being denied and going through a long, drawn out appeal process, we finally got approval to seek the out-of-network second opinion in KC! We were planning to go regardless of what the insurance company said but this will save our pocketbook a little bit...especially if anything more than the consultation is required! Another answered prayer...God is good!
