Yesterday was my 32 week appointment. I had a regular OB check-up, an ultrasound and my first non-stress test scheduled so Nate came along too. We started with the ultrasound...unfortunately, Baby H was not cooperating (not to mention that there isn't a lot of room left in there) so we didn't get the greatest pictures but it's always fun to see him moving around! We also found out that he is approximately 4 pounds and 12 ounces and in the 68th percentile...so, still a little above average but not as much as he was last month. Here is one of the ultrasound pictures of his face. We also got another 3D pic but it is so unclear, I can't even tell where his little face is...shoot!
I have another ultrasound scheduled for four weeks from now to measure the growth again b/c the baby has been so far ahead. The OB check-up was standard - weight, BP, pee in a cup - everything was normal which is great! I now also have to complete weekly non-stress tests b/c of the BP medication that I'm taking, even though my BP has and continues to be normal. This is just a precaution to measure the baby's heart rate and that it is dropping and elevating as it should (who knew it even did that). Basically, I sit in a recliner and they strap a belt around my belly (similar to what will happen when I'm in labor, minus the recliner) - one monitor measures the baby's heart rate and the other measures if I'm having any contractions. After 20-30 minutes with the belt, the doctor came and looked at the readings, said everything looked good (and told me I had one contraction...weird) and sent me on my way! Overall, it was my kind of appointment...uneventful!

On a final note - tonight we had our Baby Care class and it was actually really informative. Nate and I have both been around babies quite a bit but now we definitely know how to clean, handle, swaddle and care for a newborn...at least we think we do until they say we can leave the hospital! :)
