Happy Birthday Graham

I still can't believe it but, we have a 2-year old! Nate and I decided to take Friday to celebrate with Graham on his birthday. It was a day filled with all of his favorite things...I'm not sure who had more fun, him or us! We started off bringing Graham downstairs to a couple of his presents (choo choo trains) surrounded by balloons...which he loves! Nate also picked up Dunkin Donuts for breakfast - Graham's favorite!

It's hard to wake up...even when it is your birthday.

After breakfast, we had to go to a Children's Mercy follow-up for Graham's arm...the first one in six months. The appointment went very well and we actually got to see Graham's doctor from Des Moines who has seen him since he was born...he has since relocated to Kansas City which we are so happy about! The doctor and PT/OT told us a few more play exercises we can do with Graham to work on a couple of the very minor limitations they see but overall, they think he looks great. Our next appointment is in another six-months to make sure that Graham is still progressing as he has been. Two-years after his injury, we are beyond grateful for how far Graham has come...most people can't even tell there is/was anything wrong with him!

After our doctor's appointment, it was time for more fun. We headed down to Crown Center to the aquarium, Sea Life. Graham loved looking at all the fish and kept yelling, "more fishies!" as we went from tank to tank. He was so cute and excited! Since we were at Crown Center, we took Graham to Fritz's so he could get his lunch delivered by a train. We finished off with dessert - marshmallow dipped in chocolate and M&Ms - before heading home for a nap.

After nap, we met Dana, Bobby and Morley at Mercury Gymnastics for their open gym hour. Graham and Morley jumped on trampolines, played on the spring runway, jumped and went down a slide into foam pits. They had a blast!

Since we had so many birthdays - Graham's is 3/28, Dana's is 3/30, mine is 3/31 and Morley's is 4/4 - we went to dinner to celebrate before heading home. Dinner ended with the waitress bringing us 4 pieces of cake with ice cream...yum-my!

The birthday peeps!
We took Morley & Graham to The Grove at Zona Rosa to burn off the cake & ice cream before bed. :)

Seriously, how cute are these two?
It amazes me how well they play together!
I'm so glad that Nate and I got to spend Graham's birthday with him, spoiling and loving on him! Based on how fast these past two years have gone, I know that well before I'm ready, Graham will be wanting to spend his birthday with his friends instead of his mom and dad. Until that day comes, I'm going to savor every second of these special times. We love you so much "baby Graham" and hope that you had the best birthday!
