Sweet potatoes

Since Graham has been eating his cereal so well, Nate and I thought it might be time to try some actual baby food. I've been reading Super Baby Food which talks about what age to start different foods and how to efficiently prepare and store your own baby food...and how much money it can save you! So, because we were home this weekend, I decided to give it a try. I picked up sweet potatoes, avocados and bananas at the grocery store. I started out with sweet potatoes...and, I'm glad I did b/c they ended up being the most work. After cooking, pureeing and straining the potatoes, I filled up an ice cube tray of meal-size portions for my little peanut. Since I was already in baby food-making mode, I went ahead and prepared the avocados so I could freeze all at once...avocados were much easier than the sweet potatoes! I'm planning to prepare and freeze the bananas in the next couple of days so we'll be set for a few weeks.

I wanted to start out feeding Graham a veggie...another reason why I started with sweet potatoes. When I was finally finished preparing everything, it was time to eat. And...Graham loved the sweet potatoes - success!
